Meric (Mecidiye) Bridge Panorama Photo “5 pieces” - Edirne / Turkey
This stone bridge is on the Edirne-Karaagac road across the Meric River. Abdulmecit started building it in in 1842 and it was finished in 1847. It is 263 m long 7 m wide and has 13 pedestals supporting 12 lancet arches. There are drain holes in the pedestals and a marble memorial booth at the center of the bridge. there used to be a sun on the dome of the booth.

Edirne-Karaağaç yolunda, Meriç Nehri’nin üzerinde yapılmıştır. 1842′de Abdülmecit zamanında yapımına başlanmış 1847 de bitirilmiştir. 263 m. uzunluğunda, 7 m. genişliğinde, 13 ayak üzerinde 12 sivri kemerli bir taş köprü olup yanlara doğru eğimlidir. Ayaklar arasında ayrıca boşaltma gözleri de bulunmaktadır. ortasındaki yazıtlı köşkü, mermerdendir. Daha önce kubbesinde güneş motifi bulunduğu bilinir.
