Superfad’s new in-store campaign for Sony is a startlingly beautiful and surreal homage to Sony’s global brand message of “make.believe” and a tribute to the pleasure of “Eye Candy”. Unfolding in three parts, “Birth of Color,” “Explosion of Color,” and “Release of Color,” the project was directed and produced by Superfad and will be seen in stores and trade shows throughout the world.

The concept was inspired by the idea that from one’s imagination anything is possible. Drawing from the theatrical world of fashion photography, Superfad chose moments of visual drama and magic, with spherical objects representing the dot in “make.believe” as a connecting through-line.

Superfad Director/Executive Creative Director Will Hyde captured a live action, slow motion narrative with imagery that would showcase the picture value of Sony BRAVIA high definition televisions including color fidelity and detail. The project’s effects and animation, completed in just under three weeks, was creative directed by Carlos Stevens.

The project keenly represents Superfad’s methodology; one that eschews a singular signature style in favor of applying project-specific creative approaches to reveal the unexpected. With Sony’s “Eye Candy,” the blending of live action and animation comes together in a seamless marriage of visual intensity and wonder.

For our daily life maybe it is time to give up on using our traditional & expensive hard-table-wares, and also using lots of money, time and the precious water resources on cleaning dishes is so out of date.

So let’s have a look at one of the choices of table-wares for our daily life from Japanese Wasara , and also it is better for our earth.

from Wasara website;

“Selecting a tableware that best suits each ingredient or cuisine is a common practice for the Japanese. Among all the scenes of the world’s food cultures, no other nation cares as much about its choice of tableware. The richness of its food culture, received as one of the most refined in the world, has been clearly affecting its tableware culture.

Enjoying meals with vision as well as taste, sensing seasons with ingredients and plates, we present WASARA as tableware to add beauty to a casual gathering of congenial people that creates a rich and warm atmosphere.”

from Wasara website;

“Fitting comfortably in the hands, having a sense of stability, and accentuating food and drinks, WASARA’s form and texture make it clearly distinct from other disposable ware. The organic forms that can be accepted comfortably and the texture that gives a handcrafted feel are functional beauty rooted in the Japanese custom of holding dishes as we eat. WASARA’s rich individualities are articulated in their subtle forms.”

some interesting lines from Wasara website

” Japanese creative tradition

WASARA is a product of idiosyncratic Japanese sensibility, but how was this sensibility developed? We can find a clue in traditional architecture and manufacturing. For example, Japanese culture has the technique of shakkei, which interprets the landscape seen through a window as a part of the interior. It represents our spirit of living in harmony with nature. A lattice and a shoji screen create a certain type of beauty with a repetition of simple patterns. The resulting crisp atmosphere, a source of refreshment and comfort, has been integrated into people’s lives. The simpler the form, the more accuracy is required in crafting techniques.

WASARA is paper tableware inheriting such spirit, artifice and aesthetics in our manufacturing philosophy. ”

The best part comes last (;

“Eco-friendly
As a fate of paper tableware, a WASARA can serve its purpose only once. Yet, it is designed to minimize the environmental burden, a global issue of our time. Therefore, WASARA employed reed pulp, bamboo and bagasse (sugarcane waste) for its material. Reeds and bamboos have strong life force, and are in no danger of extinction. And produced after extracting juice from sugarcane, bagasse is sometimes discarded, but its intrinsic nature is perfect as a paper material.

Hence, by replacing wood pulp with non-wood materials such as baggasse and reeds, resources can be used efficiently. WASARA is tableware that blends with the natural practice of reducing waste. It is eco-friendly tableware complimented by spiritual richness.”

“Earth to Earth

As paper tableware, the WASARA series is ephemeral. The materials, reeds and bagasse, will return to soil in the end. Since ancient times, human beings have lived side by side with nature, conversing with and learning from it. Everything – human beings, animals, trees and weeds – returns to the earth from which new life springs.

After serving at people’s gatherings, WASARA also returns to the earth. WASARA, a one-time-only paper ware, plays a role in enriching one’s mind, despite its ephemeral nature. ”

And then the company decided to rethink its masterpiece. Once again. Carbon-free driving (zero carbon emissions!!!) powered by a 100 % electric motor, seamless acceleration to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 8.5 seconds, and a top speed of 152 km/h (95 mph) – that’s big news for a small car. For a small car with 50 years of history though.

Mini E Facts

Acceleration to 100 km/h (62 mph) / 8.5 seconds
Top speed / 152 km/h (95 mph)
CO2 Emission / Zero

Equipped with a 572-pound lithium ion battery of unknown capacity, the MINI E reportedly has a range of 150 miles after an 8-hour charge. Its electric heart beats out 204-horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, which should be plenty to make this MINI scoot. Indeed, the run to 60 should take a bit over 8-seconds and the top speed has been limited to 95 miles per hour. The entire car weighs in at a bit over 3,200 pounds and regenerative braking is used to extend the range. Body modifications are minimal, with unique badges and paint separating the E from its gas-powered siblings. On the inside, the gages have been switched up, with a multi-function unit in front of the driver, though the speedometer is still front and center in the middle of the dash.
The MINI E is the future of mobility (and Minis) – and creative use of space at its best! And is here, right on time for the Mini 50year – Anniversary. Fancy driving one?
